I have downloaded the file uk-gmapsupp-27022009.img.bz2 from Firefishy.com in http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php/OSM_Map_On_Garmin/Download but do not know the best/easiest way to extract it. I should like to load it into my Garmin Legend Hcx for its use as a routable OSM map of the United Kingdom to try it out. I use Windows XP and Vista. I have read of WinRAR - and some horror stories regarding viruses following its installation - and 7-Zip. What are users experiences of these or other such applications?
