I observed the same behaviour the day bevor yesterday. I deleted some nodes of a way, uploaded the changes (log in Java-Window said "OK" and no error-message showed up). When I imediately checkd the same area in the data-layer the nodes where still there. Downlading the area with JOSM the nodes where also present. Tried the same yesterday: No problem. The nodes were vanished after upload.
