That depends on the size of the village though. I added all the streets in Pattingham in South Staffordshire more-or-less on a single visit earlier this year (I was visiting for a christening). I can't remember now whether I split it over the Saturday and Sunday or did it all on Sunday morning (I think perhaps the latter). Of course, once the roads are on you can start adding shops, churches, pubs, bus stops, bus routes, other places of interest, footpaths, house numbers... Before long you might have one of the best mapped villages in OSM.
