[OSM-newbies] Accent on Vowel?

 I have recently added the church of St. Thomas a Becket ( 
http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/node/705529638 ) but the word "a" should 
have a grave (french) accent according to the sign at the church.  I have tried 
the html "à" but that doesn't seem to work in JOSM, although I haven't 
waited to see what that renders like. Guidance please?
