Several times now I have come across parts of the map which have for example a park drawn out as a closed way covering the area of the park, and then a single separate node in the middle tagged again as a park, but with the park name. Should this be left as is? It would make more sense to remove the single node, and just name the way.
Yes, this often happens in the US where parks were imported as GNIS nodes. It is easy to overlook the node when the entire park outline and features are created. If you notice this, copy the tags from the node to the park way before deleting it. At some point corrections could be given back to GNIS for cases where the original node was mis-positioned.
