The biggest problem with making a generalization is that generally they are wrong... Here's a link to a Google Streetview of a "turning circle" in Stafford. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Stafford,+United+Kingdom&sll=53.523319,-113.308756&sspn=0.026534,0.077162&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Stafford,+United+Kingdom&ll=52.789571,-2.13032&spn=0,0.003433&z=19&layer=c&cbll=52.789122,-2.129953&panoid=5ay8pP73XQRZB5w9NoD-CQ&cbp=12,287.08,,0,21.82 Here's a link to a Google Streetview of a "turning circle" in Sherwood Park. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=sherwood+park,+alberta,+canada&sll=51.196558,0.812988&sspn=1.703907,4.938354&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Sherwood+Park,+Division+No.+11,+Alberta,+Canada&ll=53.517752,-113.289593&spn=0.013268,0.038581&z=15&layer=c&cbll=53.517753,-113.289436&panoid=pRS1WoSFForWQ4RsLl5w3A&cbp=12,251.93,,0,19.42 There's a little bit of difference in the two... I think the silly Brits would put a house in the middle of our turning circle because we're wasting all that good land! We would consider the example in Stafford to be a dead end with no provision for turning around. I'd have to back my truck out the road as there's no room to turn in there. The local cars in the image seem to have been washed in very hot water, they've all shrunk!
