I have looked at the fujifilm XP30 (£95-£130) and the Samsung WB650 (£170).

Has anyone had experience of these or any other comparable camera.
Time to find satellites and accuracy are the main factors. I use low (!
1Mb) resolution photos.

I have no experience with those cameras, but have used the Fujifilm F550Exr and was totally disappointed with GPS performance. At times it works OK - updates the location about every 20 seconds or less, and accuracy was good ( I didn't check to see the minimum update time), and it updates the location quickly after turning it on if the GPS is left on all the time. The problems are that sometimes it doesn't sync for up to 15 minutes after turning on in an open space, making it nearly useless for mapping. It also runs the battery down quickly if the GPS is left on. Others have had similar experiences. So I'm still using the Garmin + base Camera for geo-tagging.
