Have you gone back in with josm to verify that your edits were uploaded? Just down load the area you made edits to and verify that the edits are there. If the edits are there, it's possible that they changes can not be displayed. For example, you drew a polygon and labeled it as an amenity, but forgot to tag building=yes.
