[newbies] Latitude 300xt sound card

I have a Dell Latitude cpi 300xt.  After installing RedHat 8.0, the 
sound card can't be detected.  I've found some solutions on the web, but 
they're for Debian and seem pretty involved.  Is there a simple way to 
fix the problem?
