        I don't wanna beat this horse any more, but the volume is also MUTED by 
default.  It can also be a little cryptic with all the different channels -- 
if you unmute both MAIN and PCM and turn them up, then your mixer is proven 
to not be the block.  Oh, and check for "Wave Playback Volume," also.  

        Good luck.  I know how annoying it is not to have sound.
