I'm guessing you've got some way to get to the 'net, so I'm just dropping a 
link to the nvidia forums (a search I did, and the general forum) on the 
subject.  You're not the only one with this problem it seems.

You might not notice the specific problem you're having, but I did some cross 
checking at linuxquestions.org, and your error message was mentioned in 
conjunction to this problem, hope this helps.

Forums are a great source of information, I've found lots of answers to 
problems I've run into on linux in them.  I noticed two things you might want 
to try, "insmod -f nvnet" and then "ifup eth0".  Both are mentioned in the 
first link.  Not sure if it'll do much, but it's worth a shot.

Hopefully you find something there, or someone else on the list has a better 
idea on this.  I know how annoying it is to have not internet.
