I have to agree with all of Michael's comments, and would also suggest looking at Anjuta. Anjuta is a development environment targeted to compete with KDevelop, but has more of a Gnome/GTK feel to it. They are both robust IDE's with very similiar feature sets. Which one I would suggest depends on the personal taste of the developers. Personally, I also prefer Vim in a console (using GDB/DDD when I'm really stuck). Richard Esplin
