Please be more specific about what you mean by "doesn't work."  I can
think of a couple of completely different interpretations of that
statement.

To be honest this sounds like a problem with the modem driver.  Since
that driver isn't Free you probably purchased it from linuxant, right?
 So the first place you want to look is their support, since the
product was purchased they probably provide some support as part of
that purchase.

By this I don't mean "get help somewhere else" I just mean that if you
paid money for something, the people who you paid for it should help
you get it working.  This also sounds like a hard problem to
troubleshoot and they will probably have a great deal more expertise
in helping you.  If they have phone support for you that will be way
better than this mailing-list.
