The UUG has been having trouble with it's ftp daemon for some time. I
guess they just can't get it figured out. For what it's worth, they
symlinked the directory inside the http server, so you can get to
anything that's on there through http://uug.byu.edu/ftp/. Also, the BYU
CS department has quite a bit of Unix/Linux stuff on their ftp server as
well (ftp://ftp.cs.byu.edu).
