UUG People, As the new UUG Librarian, I have been combing over our books and trying to locate where missing books are. Two things I want to bring to everyone's attention are a) book checked out to someone whose account was deleted from the website so it shows up as an Invalid User, or b) books that have been checked out to someone for a very very very long time.
For reference, here is the UUG Library URL: http://uug.byu.edu/library.php a people: There were 8 originally, I've taken this number down to 3. Now I am asking for help to locate them. Using my evil internet skills, I have two suspects: First up is "Linux Server Hacks", supposedly checked out by Jason Jensen http://web.archive.org/web/20030621000258/http://uug.byu.edu/members.php?id=176 Second is "MySQL Enterprise Solutions", supposedly checked out by Ryan Byrd. http://web.archive.org/web/20030620221614/uug.byu.edu/members.php?id=13 I don't know these people, so if these people are reading or anyone knows these people, please contact me so you can get these books back / make changes to the site so they are no longer checked out to an Invalid User. Third is "Ruby in a Nutshell" checked out by Michael Brailsford. I've had contact with him, so Michael, if you are reading this, consider this a friendly reminder. :) Also, does anyone have "Free as in Freedom"? I can't find it anywhere. b people: I will consider these people those who checked out books in a year or more ago. You know who you are, there are three of you. In fact one of you (*cough* Stuart *cough*) checked out a book two Librarians ago. We would like to get these books back as soon as possible. We've been having problems with people graduating and forgetting to give them back and having to mail them to me from all over the country. The officers have been discussing settting a time limit on how long books can be checked out and I've been exploring ways to enforce it. I don't want to get tough on it, but it may come to that if people won't return their books before graduating or in a timely manner. Thanks for reading.
