Add(or edit) this to your /etc/postfix/main.cf (assuming you want to use nm.byu.edu as the server you'll go through) relayhost = nm.byu.edu smtp_sasl_auth_enable = yes smtp_sasl_password_maps = hash:/etc/postfix/saslpass smtp_sasl_security_options = noanonymous Then in a file called /etc/postfix/saslpass add a line like this: nm.byu.edu user:pass Then run: postmap hash:/etc/postfix/saslpass That should produce a saslpass.db file. Restart postfix (service postfix restart) > > (Postfix won't compete with sendmail will it?) > I'm assuming you mean on your box. Postfix takes place of sendmail, and if you're running postfix already you have no need to fear, it should be all set.
