When people need to print out a table, 99% of the time they'll have a database client that formats the data to be pretty. Usually it will be a custom built interface like a web page where the data are formatted just right. Printing out a table in ascii plain text is just ugly. I'm assuming you don't have such a front end, so my recommendation would be to install phpMyAdmin, which will do a decent job in formatting the data and which will make it easier to do things like filtering. If you really want to, it's possible to do it on the command line, but I'd really recommend the phpMyAdmin approach. -- Andrew McNabb http://www.mcnabbs.org/andrew/ PGP Fingerprint: 8A17 B57C 6879 1863 DE55 8012 AB4D 6098 8826 6868
