Hi Everyone!

Again I have some questions about the NewPKI system.
I would like to note that some of my questions are based on
2.0.0-beta3.1, since I couldn’t try 2.0.0-beta4 out.

# How can two or more NewPKI servers communicate with each
other?
I would like to create the PKI, REP, (Root and Child) CA on
one server and on another the REP and an RA. I would like to
make them communicate with each other, so I can generate a
certificate with the RA. How can I link these modules with
each other? Where can I set the IP address of each server?

You don't set the IP of each server but the IP of each Repository.
The repositories are the communicating entities, you specify their IP and port when you create them thru the Server Admin GUI.

# When I create a user in the PKI Admin window, it’s always
hard to see the actual name, because it’s at the end of the
line. It first starts with the OU.
By default I can’t see the name and I have to manually
expand that table to see the full name.
Can you fix this problem? It would be a good idea to see the
name first.

Well, do you often create PKI Admins ? :) You can double-click on the column to fit it to the DN.

# When I request a certificate with the RA, there is an
option to set the password for it. When I don’t type a long
password for it, a message pops up and says it should be 6
characters, but every time I tried it the minimum was 7.
Which is the right value?

That's weird, I'll look into this.
To set the minimum length of the password you need to set it thru the PKI GUI, right-click on the RA entity and select Properties.

# Is it possible to translate the system messages to another
language, like it is done with French. How can I make one
for Hungarian?

Sure, I can send you an empty PO file with only the English messages, you can edit it with poedit (http://poedit.sourceforge.net/). It's a long process.

# Frédéric, you told me, that you will fix the newpki-lib
compilation under FreeBSD. How can I test if it’s working?
I can’t see a new file in the downloads directory and I
don’t know on which CVS branch you updated the configure script.

I updated it on the "newpki_stable" branch. The FreeBSD compilation server on sourceforge didn't work for a while, so I was not able to test it on FreeBSD. Let me know if there is any problem.

# How is the EE going? I saw that you have added it in the CVS…

I'm working on it. :)
