WEEKS

Yesterday, a letter of Yugoslavian ex-presidents Slobodan Milosevic lawyers
was directed to the Yugoslavian constitutional court. The letter suggests to
decide whether the Yugoslavian governments resolution about cooperation
with Hague tribunal corresponds with fundamental law of the country.
Milosevics lawyers suppose the court must prohibit authorities from
activities directed to Yugoslavian citizens extradition to Hague tribunal.
According to Milosevics lawyer Veselin Cvetkovic, a complaint has been
lodged by Milosevic, who states his constitutional right has been outraged
by Justice Ministry and by Belgrad district court. As for the lawyer,
Constitutional Court will consider these issues immediately, Yugoslavian
informational agency Tanjug reports. Though according to the adviser of
Constitutional Court chairman Yasmina Georgevic, the court will consider
this case during a normal procedure Today, ex-presidents adherents are
planning to carry out a demonstration in his support.
Meanwhile, Serbian government has already started to carry out the
governments edict about cooperation with Hague tribunal, in particular it
has started Slobodan Milosevics extradition. An announcement issued after
republic government sitting says, that Yugoslavian justice minister Momcilo
Grubac has delivered to Belgrad district court extradition warrant of
International Tribunal. According to this announcement, after the edict
about cooperation between Yugoslavia and International Tribunal has been
passed by federal government, the cooperation process has started directrly
.
Serbia government has promised to extradite Milosevic and other suspects
during 2-3 weeks.
These recent activities of Yugoslavian authorities must satisfy western
countries.
EU foreign ministers inform donor conference about Yugoslavia to be carry
out according to the plans, June 29, in Brussels. The European Commission
and World Bank will head this summit. According to the press-release of
coming conference, its successful finishing will be conductive to further
reinforcement of the process of democratisation and reforms in Yugoslavia.
Yugoslavian delegation headed by deputy prime-minister of Yugoslavian
government Mirolub Labus intends to get international credits in sum of 4
billion dollars (1 200,000 dollars this year), Yugoslavian informational
agencies report.
Speaking about possible crisis within Yugoslavian government (the question
is about contradiction between Democratic Opposition of Serbia and
Socialistic Peoples Party of Montenegro), Labus noticed the todays
situation would not become dramatic and political stability could be reached
in the nearest future.
