PRISTINA, Yugoslavia (AP) -- U.N. police released a Dutch doctor on
Wednesday, two days after she was detained on suspicion of baby trafficking in
Kosovo.
Police also freed an ethnic Albanian doctor who has been suspected of
falsifying a birth certificate, U.N. spokesman Andrea Angeli said.
Police detained the Dutch doctor, who works with a non-governmental
organization, after she was found with a 3-week-old baby, U.N. police said. She
claimed to be the infant's mother, they said.
The international prosecutor dealing with the case ordered that both women be
released, Angeli said. Police did not release the names of either doctor.
No details were available on the baby.
