The Leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Mr. Ibrahim Rugova, will
be in Ottawa on Wednesday, September 12. During the early afternoon he
will meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, after which Ms. Colleen
Beaumier, Vice-chair, has agreed to organise an informal meeting with
him
for 3:30 p.m. All Committee Members and interested Parliamentarians
are
invited to attend. There are strong indications that Mr. Rugova
could
be elected President by the Assembly to be elected in November and his
party has been constructively engaged in condemning the recent violence
in Macedonia.
Members wishing to attend this meeting are kindly asked to confirm with
the Committee's Administrative Assistant Ms. Caroline Martin at 996-1533
no later than Tuesday September 11. The venue for the meeting will
be confirmed shortly.

Le chef de la Ligue d�mocratique du Kosovo, M. Ibrahim Rugova, sera
en visite � Ottawa le mercredi 12 septembre 2001. En d�but de
l'apr�s-midi il s'entretiendra avec le ministre des Affaires �trang�res
et plus tard eil sera disponible pour rencontrer les membres du Comit�
ainsi que tout autre parlementaire disponible. Mme Colleen Beaumier,
vice-pr�sidente, a consenti � organiser une rencontre informelle avec
M. Rugova � 15h30. On pourrait s'attendre � ce que M. Rugova soit �lu
Pr�sident par la premi�re assembl�e choisie par les �lections pr�vues
pour le 17 novembre. Il est � noter que la formation dirig�e par M.
Rugova a condamn� la violence r�cente en Mac�doine.
Les parlementaires d�sirant assister � cette rencontre sont pri�s de
confirmer leur pr�sence aupr�s de Mad. Caroline Martin, Adjointe
administrative du Comit� (t�l: 996-1533), au plus tard le mardi 11
septembre. Nous confirmons sous peu le lieu de la rencontre.
