Peace March - Eyewitness account Dear Friends, After returning from D.C., I checked the online news sites (CNN, Washington Post, New York Times, LA Times); and since all of them seem to want to trivialize or misrepresent today's peace activities, I felt it would be constructive to use email to convey my experiences. There were about ten thousand people demonstrating in D.C. for peace today. The Washington Post and other news media focused their attention on the small showing of the "Black Block." Still, the overwhelming majority of the people didn't even litter, let alone confront the hundreds of police, who were dressed like storm troopers. Nearly a mile of streets leading to the Capitol were filled with anti-war protesters (see attached photo). It's curious that the corporate news media has chosen to feature photos that do not convey either the number of people who were present or their message. So be careful where you gather your news these days. Andy Deck
