DSS and opposition parties criticize decision of DOS Presidency The
actual power is afraid of elections

Belgrade - 'Obviously the rest of DOS felt it should consolidate
itself after considerable number of different statements regarding
elections in Serbia. Different statements came even from Democratic
Party whose leader Zoran Djindjic is of the opinion that we do not
need early parliamentary elections before 2004. Thus high DS official
Miroljub Labus has completely opposite stance', DSS vice president
Dragan Marsicanin said for 'Blic' daily in comment to DOS Presidency
decision that republican, province and local elections should be
regular elections and held in 2004.
Representatives of opposition believe that general elections will be
called until the end of the year.
'DOS is in panic fear from elections, but elections will be held
until
the end of the year. In pre-election campaign DOS promised elections
in a year and a half. That was a lie as everything else that DOS
promised to people', Vojislav Seselj, leader of Serbian Radical Party
   said.
Vuk Draskovic, leader of Serbian Renewal Movement also believes that
elections will be held until the end of 2002. 'More than 80 percent
of
Serbian citizens require elections. In all civilized countries the
crisis that we have in Serbia today is settled in elections only and
that will be the case here, too', Draskovic said.

'Decision by DOS Presidency that no elections will be called before
2004 manifests fear of DOS and in the first place DS and its leader
Djindjic because of disastrous results of DOS policy. Elections will
be held before 2004', Branko Ruzic, spokesman of the Socialist Party
   of Serbia said.
