HTTP://WWW.STOPNATO.ORG.UK --------------------------- The 1999 resolution, which was promoted by the United States and
Britain, laid down a work plan for inspections and outlined the path toward an

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&ncid=586&e=3&cid=586&u=/nm/20020918/wl_nm/iraq_un_dc As strange as it seems there are those - and
major actors (Chaney and Rumsfeld ) really believe the USA can act on it's own
in a real war with Iraq. Well I guess it could but it would be wrong.
Multilateralism is not just an viable option, it
is a requirement - Unilateralism (with GB almost alone) is not really a
viable choice -
The hawks believe if we roll the world will just
go along - and get on board - but it's not true. Unilateral preemptive war is
against the whole idea of collective security and international rule of law.
Bush went to the UN and supported collective security and the need for Security
Council support and enforcement of resolutions - he can't now just say BUT we
are going to war without international support. Tough ! We have to live within
the same rules we demand of others.
