 U Galeriji Vojnog muzeja na Kalemegdanu sutra u 13 casova bice otvorena izlozba "Zanatsko oruzje Balkana" ciji je autor visi kustos Vojnog muzeja Andjelija Radovic. Do 30. novembra ove godine bice izlozeni stare sablje, jatagani, puske, kubure i pistolji sa kremenskim paljenjem, kojima su se sluzile srpske vojvode iz oba ustanka. Rec je o odabiru eksponata iz postojece zbirke Vojnog muzeja pod nazivom "Orijentalno oruzje na Balkanu". Inace, bice to prvi put da se u Muzeju u tolikom obimu izlazu hladno i vatreno oruzje, izradjeno u zanatskim radionicama na Balkanu od dolaska Turaka na ove prostore do druge polovine devetnaestog veka, kada rucnu smenjuje fabricka izrada oruzja.

Pripadnici Vojske Jugoslavije i strucnjaci Instituta "Vinca" nastavili su 11. oktobra radove na dekontaminaciji sela Bratoselce u opstini Bujanovac, a do sada su detektovali i iz zemlje izvadili ukupno 69 projektila. Taj rejon posetila je i delegacija kopnenih snaga Republike Rumunije, koju je predvodio komandant Skolskog centra rumunskih antibiolosko-hemijskih odbrambenih snaga pukovnik Nikolaj Popesko. U zvanicnom saopstenju posle posete istaknut je visok stepen profesionalnosti i strucnosti pripadnika VJ i strucnjaka Instituta "Vinca".

Najmladja generacija studenata Vojne akademije, koja je na cetvorogodisnje odnosno petogodisnje skolovanje primljena pre desetak dana, polozila je zakletvu 12. oktobra u krugu VA na Banjici. Svecanom cinu prisustvovali su brojni roditelji, rodjaci i prijatelji iz svih krajeva nase zemlje. Zavetovanju buducih profesionalnih oficira prisustvovao je i zastupnik nacelnika Generalstaba VJ general-potpukovnik Branko Krga koji je pitomcima cestitao polozenu zakletvu i pozeleo im uspesno skolovanje u 127. klasi Vojne akademije.

U okviru sporazuma sa "Majkrosoftom" vlade Srbije i Jugoslavije kupile su 30.000 softverskih licenci za desktop, izjavio je u petak direktor Saveznog zavoda za informatiku Goran Veljovic. Prema Veljovicevom objasnjenju predvidjeno je da od toga savezna administracija dobije od 5.000 do 7.000 licenci, republicka
23.000 do 25.000, za Vojsku Jugoslavije predvidjeno je do 4.000, kao i za MUP i zdravstvo, i 8.000 za lokalnu samoupravu. Pribavljeno je jos 30.000 SQL licenci i dodatnih 600 server licenci.

Pripadnici 63. padobranske brigade danas obelezavaju Dan jedinice. Prvi padobranski bataljon Narodnooslobodilacke vojske Jugoslavije formiran je na danasnji dan 1944. godine, a cinili su ga ucesnici bitaka od 1941. do 1943. godine. U Vojsci Jugoslavije 14. oktobar kao Dan 63. padobranske brigade obelezava se od 1994. godine. Specijalni gost na danasnjem obelezavanju Dana 63. padobranske brigade bice njegovo visokopreosvestenstvo mitropolit Crnogorsko-primorski Amfilohije.

Na poligonu "Peskovi" ovih dana borave pripadnici 1. oklopne brigade gde, u sklopu redovne obuke, izvode gadjanja iz pesadijskog naoruzanja. Nakon toga vojnici ce realizovati logorovanje na kojem ce obaviti pripremna i skolska gadjanja iz naoruzanja oklopno-mehanizovanih jedinica.

U Novom Sadu juce su zavrseni sajmovi "Priroda i covek" gde je veliko interesovanje izazvao nastup kragujevackog preduzeca "Zastava - namenski prozivodi", koje je predstavilo novi model pistolja marke "CZ 999". Zahvaljujuci izuzetnim osobinama pistolja, kako je saopsteno, vec je sacinjen petogodisnji ugovor o izvozu tog oruzja u Ameriku, a isporuka ce poceti cim americki predsednik potpise ukaz o davanju statusa najpovlascenije nacije nasoj zemlji.

Delegacija Vojske Jugoslavije, uz pocasnu jedinicu i Vojni orkestar iz sastava Beogradskog korpusa, prisustvovala je u nedelju u Lazarevcu otkrivanju spomenika poginulim dobrovoljcima i vojnicima Vojske Jugoslavije u ratu na prostorima bivse Jugoslavije od 1990. do 1999. godine. Spomenik je otkriven kraj Spomen-kosturnice poginulih u Kolubarskoj bici, a u prostorijama drustveno-politickih organizacija
otvorena je spomen-soba.

Na ratnom letelistu "Backi Brestovac" u subotu su otkriveni spomen-obelezje i spomen-ploca u znak secanja na formiranje lovackih i jurisnih pukova Ratnog vazduhoplovstva pre 58 godina, cije tradicije nastavlja 98. lovacko-bomarderski-avijacijski puk. Svecanosti, odrzanoj pod pokroviteljstvom Skupstine opstine Odazci, prisustvovali su i nacelnici stabova Vazduhoplovnog i Novosadskog korpusa general-majori Vladimir Marjanovic i Vukajlo Cadjenovic, veterani - vazduhoplovci, ucesnici proboja Sremskog fronta i brojni gosti.

U sklopu obelezavanja 14. oktobra - Dana opstine Rakovica, predstavnici Skupstine opstine i drustvenih organizacija polozili su danas venac na spomen-obelezje poginulim pripadnicima Vojske Jugoslavije na Strazevici. Trasa tradicionalne 26. ulicne trke "Rakovica 2002", koju organizuju SO Rakovica i Atletski klub "21. maj", ove godine je izmenjena zato sto organizatori zele da takmicari, u toku trke, prodju pored spomenika na Strazevici kako bi i time iskazali pocast braniocima otadzbine.

Umetnicki ansambl Vojske Jugoslavije "Stanislav Binicki" nastupice na tradicionalnoj kulturnoj manifestaciji "Muzicka jesen", koja danas pocinje u Jagodini a trajace naredna dva meseca. Na koncertu "Vece opere, napolitanskih i spanskih pesama" nastupice i solisti Jadranka Jovanovic, Snezana Savicevic, Dusan Plazinic i Miodrag Jovanovic.

Dvojica oficira i dvojica vojnika Vojske Jugoslavije osudjeni su 11. oktobra pred Krivicnim vecem Vojnog suda u Nisu zbog ratnog zlocina nad civilnim stanovnistvom na Kosovu i Metohiji 1999.godine. Potpukovnik VJ Zlatko Mancic osudjen je na sedam a kapetan Rade Radojevic na pet godina zatvora zato sto su naredili da se ubiju dvojica albanskih civila. Vojnici Danilo Tesic iz Beograda i Misel Seregij iz Subotice osudjeni su na cetiri, odnosno tri godine zatvora kao saizvrsioci krivicnog dela. Odbrana osudjenih najavila je zalbu drugostepenom sudu.

 At the Military museum at Kalemegdan fortress, "Trade tools of the Balkans" exhibition by Military museum custodian Andjelija Radovic opens tomorrow at 1 p.m. The exhibition ending on November 30th will display old sabres, yataghans, guns and flint-triggered guns, used by Serbian commanders in both Serbian Uprisings. These are part of the exhibits from a permanent Military Museum exhibition entitled "Oriental Armament on the Balkans". This is the first time the museum displays side arms and firearms in this volume, the arms produced in Balkan workshops in the period before the arrival of Turks to this region and from the second half of the XIX century, when arms switched from manual to manufactured production.

Members of the Yugoslav Army and experts from the Vinca Institute continued on October 11th the works on the decontamination of the village of Bratoselce in the municipality of Bujanovac. So far they have located and pulled out the total of 69 missile. The region was visited by the delegation of Romanian Army's land forces, led by the Commander of the Romanian Biological and Chemical Defence forces School Centre Colonel Nikolai Popesko. The official statement issued after the visit stressed a high level of professionalism and expertise of the YA members and the Vinca Institute experts.

The youngest class of the Military Academy students, enrolled in a five-year studies some ten days ago, took a solemn oath on October 12th at the Military Academy on Banjica. The oathtaking ceremony was attended by their parents, relatives and friends from all parts of our country. The ceremony was also attended by Yugoslav Army's acting Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Branko Krga who congratulated the cadets on the taken oath wishing them successful studies in Military Academy's 127th class.

The contract with "Microsoft" firm, signed by the Serbian and Yugoslav government, provides 30,000 software licences for desktop, stated Manager of the Federal Bureau of Informatics Goran Veljovic on Friday. According to Veljovic, the Federal administration should be provided with 5,000 to 7,000 licences, Republic administration with 23,000 to 25,000, the Yugoslav Army as well as the Police and Health Service with up to 4,000, and local authorities with 8,000 licences. Additional 30,000 licences and 600 server licences have also been obtained.

Members of the 63rd Parachute Brigade are celebrating the Day of their unit today. The First Parachute Battalion of the National Liberation Army was formed on October 14th 1944. It comprised the participants of the battles from 1941-1943. October 14th is celebrated as the Day of the 63rd Parachute Brigade in the Yugoslav Army as of 1994. A special guest, Reverend Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro, will attend today's celebration.

Members of the 1st Armoured brigade are currently on the "Peskovi" proving ground where they are conducting infantry shooting, as a part of their regular training. After the shooting, the soldiers will be encamped when they will be conducting the preparatory and school shooting from weaponry used by an armoured mechanised unit.

At the "Nature and Man" fair, which ended yesterday in Novi Sad, "Zastava" firm from Kragujevac presented its new "CZ 999" model of a gun, which provoked great interest. Due to its exceptional features, it's been reported that a five-year contract has already been concluded for export of this model to America. The first delivery will be made as soon as the American President signs the most-favoured nation clause decree for Yugoslavia.

The Yugoslav Army delegation, along with the honorary unit and military orchestra from the Belgrade Corps, attended on Sunday the unveiling of the monument in Lazarevac, dedicated to the YA volunteers and soldiers who died in 1990-1999 wars in former Yugoslavia. The monument was unveiled next to the Charnel house dedicated to the soldiers killed in the battle of Kolubara. A commemorative room was also opened in the premises of social and political organisations.

At the military runway "Backi Brestovac" a memorial tablet and a commemorative plaque were unveiled on Saturday commemorating the forming of Air Force fighter and assaults regiments 58 years ago. The regiments continued the traditions of the 98th fighter-bomber Air Force regiment. The ceremony, supported by the Municipal assembly of Odzaci, was attended by Air Force and Novi Sad Corps Chiefs of Staff Major Generals Vladimir Marjanovic and Vukajlo Cadjenovic, Air Force veterans, participants of the breach of Srem front and many other guests.

Following the celebration of October 14th - The Day of the Belgrade Borough of Rakovica, members of the Borough assembly and other social organisations laid wreaths today on the memorial tablet of the Yugoslav Army soldiers who died on Strazevica. The route of the traditional 26th Street race "Rakovica 2002", organised by the Borough Assembly of Rakovica and the Athletics club "May 21st", will be altered this year since the organisers want the competitors to pass by the memorial tablet on Strazevica during the race and thus pay tribute to the defenders of the country.

The YA Artistic Ensemble "Stanislav Binicki" will be performing in the traditional cultural two-month manifestation "Music Autumn", starting today in Jagodina. Solo artists Jadranka Jovanovic, Snezana Savicevic, Dusan Plazinic and Miodrag Jovanovic will be performing at "The Evening of Opera, Neapolitan and Spanish songs" concert.

Two YA officers and two YA soldiers were convicted in the Criminal Military Court in Nis of war crimes over civilians in Kosovo-Metohija in 1999 on October 11th. Lieutenant Colonel Zlatko Mancic was sentenced to 7 years and Captain Rade Radojevic to 5 years in prison for ordering the murder of two Albanian civilians. Soldiers Danilo Tesic and Misel Seregij from Subotica were sentenced to four and three years respectively for being accomplices in this criminal act. The defenders of the convicts will be appealing against the verdict to the Court of Appeal.
