VALENTINA SETTA HELD TALKS WITH MONTENEGRIN OFFICIALS MONTENEGRO ON ITS
WAY TO EUROPE
Podgorica � It is a clear goal of Montenegro to get near to modern
Europe through the economic and democratic reforms � the President of
the Republic Milo Djukanovic said in his discussion with Valentina
Setta, the General Italian Consul in Montenegro.
Italy believes that Montenegro is on its way to Europe today, on which
there will be no obstacles and that it makes natural partner as a
naighbouring country, Setta said, adding that she would give her full
contribution as a consul to strengthening of the economic, cultural and
overall co-operation between Italy and Greece.
Setta has also held talks with the Speaker of the Parliament of
Montenegro, Vesna Perovic, and the attention of that protocol meeting
was focused on the current political situation in Montenegro.

TOURISM � THE BASIS OF NEW ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF MONTENEGRO
Podgorica � Agriculture, tourism and maritime affairs � are the basics
of new economic development of Montenegro �President of the Republic
Milo Djukanovic said during the yesterday�s working visit to the
Montenegro�s coastal tourist metropolis.
If these three branches of the Montenegro�s economic development become
fully operational, they will provide better future both to Montenegro
and its citizens � Djukanovic estimated.
Djukanovic emphasised the important role of the European Agency for
Reconstruction and Development, which was currently realising �18
million worth reconstruction of the road infrastructure, mainly in the
south of the Republic.
In addition to these projects, the European Agency for Reconstruction
has announced that it will allocate around �10 million for construction
of the road infrastructure in the north of Montenegro � Djukanovic said.
INTERNATIONAL CRISIS GROUP ANALYST PETER PALMER:
EU WANTS THE UNITARIAN STATE OF SERBIA AND MONTENEGRO
Podgorica � The stand that it is necessary to create a centralised state
of Serbia and Montenegro is present among the European Union (EU)
officials � the International Crisis Group analyst, Peter Palmer, said
for the independent weekly �Monitor� from Podgorica.
The European policy is committed to short-term policy in the Balkans,
which unfortunately does not lead to the real stability in the region �
Palmer estimated, adding that �interfering with the relations of Serbia
and Montenegro� was the mistake of the international community.
If there had not been for that interference, Belgrade and Podgorica
would have found �stable long-term solutions� for their relations �
Palmer believes.
IN LETTER TO VESNA PEROVIC, THE INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF JOURNALISTS
EMPHASISES:
NEW MEDIA LAWS SHOULD BE IMPLEMENTED IMMEDIATELY
Podgorica � The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) has
addressed another letter to the Montenegro�s Parliament Speaker, Vesna
Perovic, inviting the Parliament of Montenegro to bring recently adopted
reform media laws into effect as soon as possible.
The IFJ expresses its concern because the delay in the implementation of
these laws until May 1st 2003, since the broadcast media reforms are
very urgent and should be conducted prompty in order to provide
independent radio and television for Montenegro � it was stated in the
letter of the IFJ General Secretary Aidan White.

STRATEGIC DESTINATION � THE AGREEMENT IMPLEMENTATION
Podgorica � The implementation of the Belgrade Agreement is the
strategic destination of Montenegro � the Democratic Party of Socialists
(DPS) spokesman, Igor Luksic, said at the yesterday�s press conference,
expressing his expectation that the Constitutional Charted will be
adopted soon.
Then, we will fully normalise and develop good relations with Serbia, on
the basis of new principles, and fulfil the conditions for the
acceptance in the Council of Europe (CoE) � Luksic stated.
The Charter will also be strong contribution to the regional
stabilisation � Luksic estimated.
KOTOR: THE CONTRACT ON SALE OF THE CONTROL PACKAGE OF JUGOPETROL SHARES
HELLENIC PAID �65 MILLION
Podgorica � The representatives of the Government of Montenegro,
Jugopetrol and Greek company Hellenic Petroleum signed yesterday in
Kotor the contract on sale of the control package of Jugopetrol shares
to the Greek company.
Hellenic Petroleum bought 54.33 per cent of Jugopetrol shares at the
price of �65 million, and planned to invest another �25 million, 4 in
social programme and �1.5 million in the assistance to the local
infrastructure projects.
The Jugopetrol privatisation has been transparent and correct and sends
positive message to the foreign investors interested to invest in
Montenegro � the American Ambassador in Belgrade, William Montgomery,
said to �Vijesti� daily from Podgorica.

CRNA GORA NA PUTU PREMA EVROPI
Podgorica � Crna Gora ima jasan cilj da se kroz ekonomske i demokratske
reforme priblizi savremenoj Evropi � rekao je predsjednik Republike Milo
Djukanovic u razgovoru sa generalnim konzulom Italije u Crnoj Gori
Valentinom Setom.
Italija smatra da je Crna Gora danas na putu prema Evropi, na kojem nece
biti prepreka i da je kao susjedna zemlja njen prirodni partner � rekla
je Seta, dodajuci da ce kao konzul dati puni doprinos jacanju ekonomske,
kulturne i ukupne saradnje Italije i Crne Gore.
Seta je razgovarala i sa predsjednikom crnogorskog Parlamenta Vesnom
Perovi, a u tom protokolarnom susretu najvise paznje bilo je posveceno
trenutnoj politickoj situaciji u Crnoj Gori.

TURIZAM OKOSNICA NOVOG EKONOMSKOG RAZVOJA CRNE GORE
Podgorica � Poljoprivreda, turizam i pomorstvo � tri su okosnice novog
ekonomskog razvoja Crne Gore � rekao je predsjednik Republike Milo
Djukanovic prilikom jucedrasnje radne posjete Budvi, turistickoj
metropoli na Crnogorskom primorju.
Ako se te tri grane ekonomskog razvoja Crne Gore stave u punu funkciju,
one ce Crnoj Gori i njenim gradjanima omoguciti bolju buducnost �
ocijenio je Djukanovic.
Djukanovic je naglasio veliku ulogu Evropske agencije za rekonstrukciju
i razvoj, koja u Crnoj Gori trenutno realizuje 18 miliona eura
investicija na putnoj mrezi, i to uglavnom na jugu Republike.
Pored tih projekata, Evropska agencija za rekonstrukciju najavila je da
ce za izgradnju putne infrastrukture na sjeveru Crne Gore izdvojiti oko
10 miliona eura � rekao je Djukanovic.
ANALITICAR MEDJUNARODNE KRIZNE GRUPE PITER PALMER:
EU ZELI UNITARNU DRZAVU SRBIJU I CRNU GORU
Podgorica � Medju zvanicnicima Evropske unije (EU) prisutan je stav da
je neophodno da se od Srbije i Crne Gore stvori centralizovana drzava �
izjavio je analiticar Medjunarodne krizne grupe Piter Palmer za
podgoricki nezavisni nedjeljnik �Monitor�.
Evropska politika se oprijedila za kratkotrajnu politku na Balkanu, koja
nazalost, ne vodi stvarnoj stabilnosti regiona � ocijenio je Palmer,
smatrajuci da je greska medjunarodne zajednice sto se �umijesala u
odnose Srbije i Crne Gore�.
Da nije bilo tog mijesanja Beograd i Podgorica bi za sopstvene
medjusobne odnose nasli �stabilna rjesenja na duge staze� - misljenja je
Palmer.
MEDJUNARODNA FEDERACIJA NOVINARA U PISMU VESNI PEROVIC ISTICE: NOVE
MEDIJSKE ZAKONE ODMAH PRIMIJENITI
Podgorica � Medjunarodna federacija novinara (IFJ) ponovo se obratila
pismom predsjedniku Skupstine Crne Gore Vesni Perovic, u kojem poziva
crnogorski Parlament da sto prije obezbijedi stupanje na snagu nedavno
usvojenih reformskih medijskih zakona.
IFJ izrazava zabrinutost zbog toga sto je primjena seta zakona odlozena
do 1. maja 2003. godine, jer reforme elektronskih medija su veoma
urgentne i treba ih sprovesti brzo, kako bi se Crnoj Gori obezbijedili
nezavisni radio i televizija � navodi se u pismu generalnog sekretara
IFJ Ejdina Vajta.
POTPAROL DPS-a IGOR LUKSIC:
STRATESKO OPREDJELJENJE � PRIMJENA SPORAZUMA
Podgorica � Primjena Beogradskog sporazuma stratesko je opredjeljenje
Crne Gore � rekao je portparol Demokratske partije socijalista (DPS)
Igor Luksic, na jucerasnjoj konferenciji za novinare, izrazavajuci
ocekivanje da ce ustavna povelja biti uskoro usvojena.
Tada cemo u punoj mjeri normalizovati i na novim principima razvijati
dobre odnose sa Srbijom, a ispunicemo i uslov za prijem u Savjet Evrope
(SE) � konstatovao je Luksic.
Povelja ce biti i snazan doprinos stabilizaciji prilika u regionu �
ocjena je Luksica.
KOTOR: POTPISAN UGOVOR O PRODAJI KONTROLNOG PAKETA AKCIJA �JUGOPETROLA�
�HELENIK� PLATIO 65 MILIONA EURA
Podgorica � Predstavnici crnogorske Vlade, �Jugopetrola� i grcke
kompanije �Helenik petroleum� juce su u Kotoru potpisali ugovor o
prodaji kontolnog paketa akcija �Jugopetrola� toj grckoj kompaniji.
�Helenik petroleum� je 54,33 odsto akcija �Jugopetrola� kupio za 65
miliona eura i planira da u investicije ulozi 25 miliona, u socijalni
program 4 i 1,5 miliona eura za pomoc lokalnim infrastrukturnim
projektima.
Privatizacija �Jugopetrola� je bila transparentna i korektna i
predstavlja pozitivnu poruku stranim investitorima zainteresovanim za
ulaganja u Crnu Goru � ocijenio je americki ambasador u Beogradu Vilijam
Montgomeri, u izjavi za podgoricke �Vijesti�.
NJEMACKI CRVENI KRST OBEZBIJEDIO POMOC ZA ZDRAVSTVENE USTANOVE NA
SJEVERU CRNE GORE BOLNICAMA OPREMA � VRIJEDNA 60 HILJADA EURA
Podgorica � Njemacki Crveni krst poklonio je juce zdravstvenim
ustanovama u Bijelom Polju i Beranama pomoc u medicinskom materijalu, u
ukupnoj vrijednosti od oko 60 hiljada eura.
Sredstva za nabavku te opreme obezbijedilo je njemacko Ministarstvo
inostranih poslova, a predstavnici njemackog Crvenog krsta prekjuce su
zdravstvenim ustanovama u Podgorici i Niksicu urucili slicnu pomoc.
