Bush's 2003 Iraq Invasion - Just Another Barbarossa Style Attack For Oil!

Sixty-two years after Hitler's failed "Barbarossa Invasion" of the Soviet Union to obtain natural resources and oil which Stalin was  more than happy to provide the Third Reich anyway,  President Bush will start another "preemptive war" against the Middle East for the same reason, "OIL". Hitler's propaganda suggested the preemptive war was to forstall an immediate but mythical Soviet attack planned on Europe just as Bush warns today about another nonexistent threat of attack, this time Iraq against the United States.  Although Hitler desired to extend his empire all the way to the Ural Mountains, Bush is more modest,only planing to first destroy Iraq and later to occupy Iran, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, thus putting all the Middle East oil under control of the American oil industry.

While I view the coming Bush invasion of Iraq as just another in the long list of US military interventions and easy victories during the last 10 years, this time the long-term situation is different.  We are occupying an Islamic country sitting directly between Iran and Saudi Arabia and I fear that this is the beginning of U.S. occupation and control of the Middle East oil fields.  This act, as it unfolds, over the next few years will bring about such hatred and violent reaction in the Middle East that our occupation will become an expensive military quagmire in terms of lives and economic costs much like Israel’s continued occupation of the West Bank and other Palestinian territories, but with a major difference. The geographic area of the Washington Empire’s occupation will be hundreds of times the size of the West Bank and thousands of miles away from our homebase of the United States.  We have all seen this too many times before in the Middle East. Make no mistake, this latter-day 21^st Century crusade against the oil fields will end just like the Christian Crusades, in our total defeat long-term in the area.  The military assault and occupation may well  be the trigger that may will usher in the beginning of the end for an over-extended Washington Empire.

This will be another Hitler-style Barbarossa invasion with a lightening quick victory and then we loose the war during the occupation.  The sad thing about it all is this never has to happen.  The Arabs will always sell us oil -- after all what else do they have of value. This attack and invasion may well knock Iraq out in a couple of weeks but the long-term guerrilla warefare, terrorist attacks by outraged Islamic extremists around the world on our troops, innocent civilian targets here in the United States and our financial markets will defeat us.  I believe our Middle East invasion will be comparable to Hitler’s invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941.  The Soviet Union was also more than willing to supply the natural resources, food and other necessities needed by the Third Reich but Hitler got greedy and wanted it all.

Remember, before the Nazi invasion or pre-emptive strike, to use a Bush Administration term, almost all of the citizens of the Soviet Union hated the communist system and their control over the many nationalities, religious and ethnic groups while few supported the Soviet government. Stalin utilized police-state terror to maintain government control over his nation and empire because there was little loyalty or patriotism, only quiet opposition to the Soviet government. Nothing could have brought about real support for Stalin and the Soviet government, except for Hitler’s invasion.  This was the catalyst which created “The Great Patriotic War of the Soviet Union” and millions of Russians and others in the Soviet-occupied nations risked all and willingly gave their lives in the defense of the motherland against a foreign invader. 

I fear our invasion and subsequent expanding occupation of the oil-rich Middle East will do the same for the very unorganized and disparate peoples in the region.  I am concerned that we might create our own Barbarossa nightmare and thus bring together all the Islamic peoples in opposition to our invasion, occupation and empire. Just as no nation has ever successfully conquered and occupied Russia or the Soviet Union, the same can also be said for the Middle East.  Let us not forget what happened to Hitler and the brave soldiers of the Third Reich when they made war against the Soviet Union or almost 50 years later when the Soviet Union at the peak of its power, invaded Islamic Afghanistan. The first year they declared victory, like we have, in Afghanistan and will in Iraq but in the following  years they lost the war, all on the border of the Soviet Union. 

What does this say about our prospects in Washington's war of conquest in the Middle East?  Expect a quick victory over Saddam, then the occupation begins and we are forced to launch strikes against Saudi Arabia and Iran who will offer sanctuary for Islamic terrorists and guerrilla fighters. This is when the bloody body bags of the Empire's soldiers will start coming home.  In the end, the Washington Empire will fair no better and probably far worse than earlier conquerers of the Middle East.   It seems that politicians never learn!
