RUSSIA CEDES KOSOVO CONTINGENT PROPERTY TO KFOR: PREMIER
MOSCOW, August 29th, 2003. (RIA Novosti). - Moscow will not
demand even token compensation as it cedes Kosovo contingent movables and
immovables to the KFOR command after Russian peacekeepers left the area. Prime
Minister Mikhail Kasyanov signed a related decree today.
Property will be passed under supervision of Russia's
Ministries of Defence, Foreign Affairs, and Economic Development and Trade. The
initiative belonged to the Defence Ministry and was duly coordinated with the
two latter.
Ceded army property will come as Russian contribution to Kosovo
economic and social rehabilitation, Novosti heard at the government information
board.
