 Serbian marathon runners prepare for a race to mark 60th anniversary of
victory in WWII


   BELGRADE, March 6 (RIA Novosti) � A group of ten marathon runners from a
Serbian club, Noble Hearts, will set off from Belgrade on April
21 to arrive in Moscow on May 9 to mark the 60th anniversary of Victory over
Nazi Germany. Belgrade�s Vecernje Novosti newspaper reported on Sunday that
this would be the longest-ever distance race in the world measuring 2,450km.

Coaches say the runners will cover 80-130km a day.

The �marathon� will cross Serbia, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland,
Belarus, Ukraine and Russia. The group will start from St. Sava�s Cathedral
in Belgrade and will finish near the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in
Moscow.

According to the marathon runners� club, the athletes intend to give some of
the money they receive from advertising to the families of the children
killed in Beslan.
