Will Dogs get their homes in Prizren before Serbs expelled in last March
riots?

RTS, other Serbian Media, March 23
Media monitoring report

Due to the sheltering of 10 official dogs used by the German KFOR troops in
Prizren, the military and civil departments of the German Defense Ministry
have been in dispute. According to the initial proposal, the houses for
sheltering dogs should have cost 300,000 euros. Even the greatest dog lovers
opposed that proposal, and decided to reduce the costs by 100,000 euros.
However, the headquarters of the sanitary service in Bonn has protested,
along with the remark that dogs also have the right to a "peaceful and safe
sleep."
At the same time while German KFOR is geting ready for a painful decision
how much money to spend on their military dogs, dozens of Serbs in Prizren
who were expelled from their homes in last March riots in Prizren still
remain without homes and peaceful sleep. Old, Serbian part of Prizren still
looks like charred quarters of WW2 Dresden while not one of 7 Serbian
Orthodox churches torched by Albanian hooligans has been reconstructed so
far. German KFOR was under heavy criticism at home for their failure to
protect remaining Serbs and their property during the March riots last year.
After the March riots German KFOR has made considerable efforts to improve
security conditions but however no Serb returnees to Prizren town and the
neighboring area have yet arrived.
