Karadzic's Wife Appeals For Him To Surrender
28 July 2005 -- The wife of
Bosnian Serb wartime leader Radovan Karadzic appealed today to her husband to
surrender to the UN war crimes tribunal "for the sake of the
family."
Ljiljana Karadzic was speaking at her
home in an interview with The Associated Press. She also spoke on national
television.
She said her family is under constant pressure and that their lives and their existence are "jeopardized."
Radovan Karadzic was the Bosnian Serb leader during the wars in the former Yugoslavia in the 1990s. He and his military commander, Ratko Mladic, are on the UN war crimes tribunal's most wanted list. Both face charges of genocide and other atrocities.
