GOTOVINA'S LAWYERS SAY HAVE NO OFFICIAL
INFORMATION OF THEIR CLIENT'S ARREST
ZAGREB, Dec 8 (Hina)
Lawyers for General Ante Gotovina said on Thursday
they had no official information of their client's arrest, but added that if the
information proved to be true one of them would probably travel to the Canary
Islands where the fugitive general was reportedly arrested on Wednesday.

The chief prosecutor of the Hague war crimes
tribunal, Carla del Ponte, said in Belgrade on Thursday that fugitive
Croatian general Ante Gotovina was arrested on the Canary Islands on
Wednesday and that steps were being taken to transfer him to The Hague,
del Ponte's spokeswoman Florence Hartmann told Hina over the phone from
Belgrade. |

PROSECUTOR SAYS ZAGREB, Dec 8 (Hina)
The chief prosecutor of the Hague war crimes
tribunal, Carla del Ponte, said in Belgrade on Thursday that runaway
Croatian general Ante Gotovina was arrested on the Canary Islands on
Wednesday, according to del Ponte's spokeswoman Florence Hartmann.
