SRSG and Negotiation Team discuss international presence after status SRSG Jessen-Petersen informed the Negotiation Team members on the discussions that UNMIK is having with the EU, the OSCE, and with other organizations regarding the way of the international presence in Kosovo after the status definition. Jessen-Petersen said that the working groups will deal with this issue in the coming days. This is not done in order to decide on the status; it is an informal dialogue and a planned exercise. Everything will be done in close collaboration with the UN envoy on status Martti Ahtisaari, Mr. Jessen Petersen said. On the other hand, Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdiu also said that international presence in Kosovo should continue even after definition of the status. He stated that the international presence after the status definition will be decided in agreement with the local institutions. Sejdiu did not exclude the possibility of meeting his Serbian counterpart Boris Tadic at a possible international conference which might take place in the future, but he stated that currently the Kosovo institutions are doing their work. We have never avoided anything that is related to the future of Kosovo, President Sejdiu said. In todays meting, SRSG and the Negotiation Team
