Belgrade accusing Ahtisari
Serbian negotiating team requested from UN special envoy for Kosovo status
Marti Ahtisari to explain his statement that 'Serbs are guilty as a nation'.
Official Belgrade warned yesterday that such statement 'brings in question
Ahtisari's impartiality in negotiations'.
Meeting with Serbian delegation in Vienna on August 8, Ahtisari said that
'Serbs were guilty as a nation'. All members of Serbian delegation attending
that meeting confirmed that Ahtisari had had said that.
Leon Koen one of the coordinators of Serbian negotiating team said that a
letter was sent to Ahtisari on August 10 expressing 'the most profound
dissatisfaction and bitterness' over his statement and that no reply to that
letter has arrived so far.
