War Associations: Kosovo is in danger (dailies, TVs) All dailies cover yesterday's press conference by the KLA
War Associations, whose representatives were quoted as saying that Kosovo is in
danger and a new national tragedy was being prepared. The War Associations
yesterday addressed the people of Kosovo, the Kosovo Assembly and Government,
the Team of Unity, the Quint diplomatic offices, UNMIK and the UN Secretary
General, reconfirming that they would not accept anything but the independence
of Kosovo. Koha Ditore
highlights the message of the
KLA War Associations that We will defend Kosovo with blood again, if the need
arises. The paper also notes that the War Associations have warned
the highest local and international institutions that the veterans, invalids and
the families of martyrs would accept no solution but the independent state of
Kosovo. Iliria Post
quotes
the War Associations that they are against any action that would bring new
bloodshed to Kosovo. Epoka e Re
quotes
the War Associations representatives on the front page as saying, "New bloodshed
is being prepared in Kosovo. We must be mobile, ready and well-prepared to
defend the ideals of the KLA war, and we will never accept any other solution
except for Kosovo a sovereign and integral state." Zëri notes that KLA War
Associations representatives said these were the only organisations that
represent the values of the KLA war, and not the former KLA members that now
represent various political parties. "We have the right to inform you with assessments and
facts that our country is in danger. This is being played by the international
diplomacy but also by the local factor," said Faik Fazliu, chairman of the War
Veterans Association. KTV and RTK quoted
Fazliu as saying: "It is our national obligation to inform timely that we are
against any act which would bring new bloodshed in Kosovo. Current situation and
game related to political status is being played at people's expense, but the
opposite is being proclaimed. While the so-called Unity Team say Kosovo will
become independent, they are only speaking in future tense, as they have been
doing for 17 years. It is our duty to communicate to you that our country is in
danger. This game is played by both international and Albanian actors."
