Re: "The General Who Testified Before Milosevic " By Brian Adeba -
Embassy, July 11th, 2007

It looks as if Lt.-Gen. Michel Maisonneuve had not ventured outside
his headquarters much when stationed in Kosovo, since his recollection
of what had happened on the ground in Racak did not correspond to what
his countryman Rollie Keith testified to have seen in Kosovo. Rollie
Keith, a retired Canadian military officer who served as an OSCE
Kosovo Verification Mission observer in Kosovo in the 1990s said, he
never saw any evidence of genocide or ethnic cleansing involving
Slobodan Milosevic and Serbian forces in Kosovo and Metohija. In his
interview to CKCU 93.1 FM in Ottawa, Mr.Keith added: "..In my area,
based what I was witnessing and what I was hearing, the majority of
troubles were initiated by UCK. It appeared to me, and it proved to be
true, that they were purposely trying to initiate a state crackdown
that would justify in their opinion an international intervention by
the NATO forces or the others..."

Peter Worthington in his articles ""The hoax that started a war "
published in Toronto Sun on April1, 2001 states that the "Racak
massacre" was a hoax : "It has since turned out, through subsequent
investigations by German, French and American correspondents and by
human rights and peace groups, including the anti-war International
Action Centre and the Liberty Foundation, that the Racak massacre
seems an enormous, albeit effective, hoax perpetrated by the Kosovo
Liberation Army to persuade the U.S. and NATO to attack the Serbs. The
goal was independence for Kosovo, possibly leading to the dream of a
Greater Albania."

Just like in Iraq where there were no WND found, there was no
expulsion or ethnic cleansing of Albanians from the Serbian province
of Kosovo by Serbs and no reason for a military intervention there. It
was Clinton led NATO leaders who decided to break the international
law, the UN Charter, the law of their own countries and bomb Serbia in
1999. They imposed drastic economic sanctions on Serbia. They help
arming and training the terrorist KLA (so called Kosovo Liberation
Army) and supported Albanian arm rebellion in a sovereign country
called Yugoslavia. They bombed Serbia for 78 days, poisoned its land
and water with DU. Western countries, including Canada, joined forces
with Islamic extremists and help establish an independent Islamic
territory in Bosnia and Kosovo. They terrorized and vilified Serbs by
disseminating false and inaccurate information about what had happened
in the former Yugoslavia. Yet Milosevic is the villain?!

In one of his recent addresses Canadian Ambassador James Bissett
described the world that people like Lt.-Gen. Michel Maisonneuve had
shaped for us to live in. " We are now living, it would seem, in that
Orwellian world where honour becomes dishonour, where justice is
injustice; where truth is turned into falsehood and honesty into
dishonesty. It is a world where terrorists are described as liberators
and traditional allies are betrayed."

Lt.-Gen. Michel Maisonneuve to his disgrace ignores and spins away the
truth behind the conflict in Kosovo. An op-ed in the National Post "We
bombed the wrong side?" by retired Canadian general and veteran UN
peacekeeper Lewis McKenzie should serve as a reminder of the failed
military intervention with unforeseen consequences.

"..Those of us who warned that the West was being sucked in on the
side of an extremist, militant, Kosovo-Albanian independence movement
were dismissed as appeasers. The fact that the lead organization
spearheading the fight for independence, the Kosovo Liberation Army
(KLA), was universally designated a terrorist organization and known
to be receiving support from Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda was
conveniently ignored..." The Kosovo-Albanians have played us like a
Stradivarius. We have subsidized and indirectly supported their
violent campaign for an ethnically pure and independent Kosovo. We
have never blamed them for being the perpetrators of the violence in
the early '90s and we continue to portray them as the designated
victim today in spite of evidence to the contrary."
