Mafia paid report (Vecernje Novosti)

In an exclusive interview granted to Novosti, the Chairman of the
International Association of Strategic Studies Gregory Copley claims that
everything published on the bribing of Martti Ahtisaari is correct.

"We have done a lot of research of corruption cases in the Balkans over the
past 15 years. We heard a lot of information and rumors on corruption in
Ahtisaari's office, but we waited until we heard about the writing in the
Banjaluka Fokus. Then we commenced our own investigation. We talked with
many of our own sources and determined that it is correct that the German
secret service BND made the report. Of course, our report has been made for
the governments, which are the only ones using the Global Information System
(GIS). As far as I know, this 'leaked' through the media later on," says
Copley.

Is the information on bribing Ahtisaari reliable?

"First we saw the BND report. Then we asked our sources whether we can
receive an independent confirmation on Ahtisaari's corruption. Several
intelligence sources from different countries involved in the Kosovo process
had suspicions or evidence on Ahtisaari's involvement in Albanian organized
crime."

How long have you been at Ahtisaari's trace?

"We have been observing him since he has been appointed as the UN Special
Envoy, because we knew that he took this post after he had worked for the
International Crisis Group (ICG), which was actually founded by financier
George Soros. We also knew that Soros, just as the ICG, have a very firm
stand that advocates independence of Kosovo. That means that he is not a
neutral personality at this post."

What do you expect now?

"I expect the UN to examine Ahtisaari's position. Unfortunately, it seems
the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon lacks courage to accept the situation
created with KLA threatening to renew violence. I am disappointed that the
new Secretary-General doesn't have the courage to 'clean up his own yard'
and this shows me that there is still a lot of corruption in the UN that
existed under Ban Ki-moon's predecessor."

According to Fokus, it was precisely the UN Secretary-General who requested
an investigation on Ahtisaari's corruption?

"Soon after he requested an investigation, he demanded a quick resolution of
the Kosovo situation and has not undertaken clear steps towards suspending
Ahtisaari or examining his work. He was obviously shocked with the first
accusations, the BND report certainly confirmed them, but we should bear in
mind that he is now under great pressure - not only by the KLA that
threatens the entire region with violence, but also by the US State
Department that behaves more or less as KLA's agent in promoting Kosovo's
independence," said Copley.
