US likely to recognize Kosovo’s independence
The US might recognize Kosovo’s independence
unilaterally, APA’s Eastern European bureau reports.
US diplomat Frank Wisner stated that he is reviewing
recognition opportunities.
The US [expects] that the 120-day discussion process
on Kosovo’s future status will be fruitless.
Talks held between Serbia and Kosovo with the
mediation of US-Russia-Europe will end on December 10.
Wisner represents the US in the Troika.
On the other hand, Prime minister of Kosovo Agim Ceku
said that there is no point to continue talks with
Belgrade as Serbian politicians refuse to recognize
province’s independence.
The 120-day discussion is the last compromise of
Kosovo.
