Russian Descent in Serbia
Medvedev and Lavrov personally demonstrate support for
Belgrade

The cream of Russian political elite lands today in
Belgrade to demonstrate Russia's firm support for
Serbia's position against Kosovo independence.
The delegation, led by Russia's future president,
Dmitri Medvedev will meet Serbia's President Boris
Tadic and Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica, according
to BETA agency.
Medvedev brings along also Russia's Foreign Minister,
Sergey Lavrov and Minister of Emergency Situations,
Sergey Shoigu who also co-chairs the intergovernmental
committee for economic cooperation.
The Russians are expected to stay in Belgrade for five
days.
Serbia's Minister of Trade, Predrag Bubalo, said that
the main topics of talks would be Kosovo and the
implementation of South Stream gas project.
Along with officials, a group of Russian activists
from the Eurasian Youth Union and Young Russia arrived
in Belgrade yesterday morning.
They will take part in the protests against Kosovo
independence.
A public prayer was conducted in the Moscow church of
Sts Peter and Paul for the salvation of the Serbs in
Kosovo and Metohija, according to ITAR-TASS.
