            Mr. Dragan RAKIC

            Strasbourg

            France

                        Sir,

Before the presidential elections in Serbia last
February, the European Union, you as a president for European enlargement,

and Mr. Javier Solana as a Secretary General for European
foreign affairs, declared that if Mr. Boris Tadic won those elections, the

way to Europe would be faster and at least accelerated. What
happened ever since was quite contrary. European Union was among the

first ones to recognize the unilaterally declared independence
of the Serbian province of Kosovo.

Letting that unlawful problem apart, the European
Union did nothing to accelerate what was to be done before Serbian
elections.

In the Western media we can read, for example, that an “US
Senior official declared that the way to Europe for Serbia is opened”.

Are you waiting for a green light coming from States to
accomplish what was to be accomplished? Are you waiting for Serbia to beg
you for what was

            convened to be done ?

By not accepting Serbia to EU, the last one will not
be obliged to admit that it took illegally the 15% of the Serbian territory,
and this might be the

only reason the European Union do nothing. You forget that more
than 75% of the Serbian population in spite of all wishes to become what
they are already

by their geographical position, the Europeans. By acting in the
most irresponsible way, EU will create the instability in the region, and
will be directly responsible

for all the consequences. If the independence of Kosovo was “the
only possible way” to solve the problem, the quick admittance of Serbia to
EU will be the only

possible way to prevent the genocide and the ethnic cleansing
against Serbs and their historical and cultural heritage.

            Sincerely

            Dragan RAKIC
