MONTREAL // Public Forum on KOSOVO AND METOHIJA, May 15 2008
You are cordially invited to a public forum on the independence of
Kosovo. As you know, on February 17, 2008, the Serbian province of
Kosovo unilaterally declared their independence from Serbia without the
support of the United Nations Security Council. Several nations followed
suit in immediately recognizing this declaration, including the
Government of Canada which announced its recognition on March 18. In
protest the Serbian government has recalled all of its ambassadors from
the nations which have recognized this independence, including the
ambassador to Canada.
The panel will take place May 15, 2008, from 6-10pm at the Library
Building of Concordia University.
A panel of speakers will discuss the legal, political and moral implications
of this independence. Refreshments, including wine and cheese, will be
served at the break.
This issue is of profound importance to the Serbian community, and your
attendance will be noticed and appreciated. We thank you in advance for
registering in our Guest Book which will enable us to keep you informed
about events in Kosovo as they unfold.
Guest speakers include:
Retired Canadian Major-General Lewis Mackenzie
James Bissett, former Canadian Ambassador to Yugoslavia
Scott Taylor, former Canadian soldier and war correspondent
Professor Sunil Ram, Professor of Military History, American Military
University
Professor Michel Chossudovsky, Professor of Economics, University of Ottawa
Please RSVP in order to reserve priority seating.
Sincerely,
Lili Petrovic
