Expert: “Ukraine's Foreign Ministry pulled Kiev into
the Caucasus conflict”

-"I can't imagine, however, that Mr. [Foreign
Minister] Ogryzko could block the Black Sea Fleet
ships in the Sevastopol bay.
"With the help of Ministry of Foreign Affairs forces,
I suppose? Or with the forces of the “Student
Brotherhood” under his control?” [Student Brotherhood:
pro-'orange' fascistic 'youth group' that has stormed
Russian naval facilities in Crimea.]

“Ukraine's Foreign Ministry should refrain from
provocative statements now”, believes Vladimir
Kornilov, political analyst and director of the
Ukrainian branch of the CIS Institute.

According to a REGNUM correspond, this statement was
made on August 11 at a round table entitled “What
threat the war between Georgia and Russia bears to
Ukraine”.

Kornilov said: “It is high time for the parliament and
the prime minister of Ukraine to ask the Foreign
Minister of Ukraine, Mr. Ogryzko, to claim
responsibility for the statements he made about the
conflict.

"His statement about the Black Sea Fleet can be
described as a provocation, nothing else.

"I can't imagine, however, that Mr. Ogryzko could
block the Black Sea Fleet ships in the Sevastopol bay.

"With the help of Ministry of Foreign Affairs forces,
I suppose? Or with the forces of the “Student
Brotherhood” under his control?”

“This initiative, in fact, is already pulling Ukraine
into the conflict, yet indirectly for now,” Kornilov
said.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry warned Russia
against Russian Black Sea Fleet ships' possible
participation in the South Ossetia conflict.

“The Ukrainian side reserves for itself the right to
ban Russian military fleet vessels which may take part
in the Georgian-Ossetian conflict to return to
Ukrainian territory.

"It is made in order to prevent the occurrence of
circumstances when Ukraine might be involved in the
action mentioned above,” the statement announces.
