Serbia to unveil results of 1999 Mitrovica bombing study

MOSCOW - Serbian leaders are currently checking the reports that NATO used
depleted uranium bombs during its attack on Kosovska Mitrovica inĀ  1999,
which allegedly led to an increase in the number of oncologicĀ  diseases in
this region, Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic said.

"NATO's intervention in 1999 was a real breach of all international
regulations, including those banning the use of certain types of
weapons," Jeremic told a press conference after talks with Russian
Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Reports about the growing number of oncologic diseases in Kosovska
Mitrovica "are currently the object of scrutiny and investigation," he
said.

"Once the study is completed, we will publish the final results,"
Yeremic said.
