...In central Kosovo, Metohija and the Kosovo Morava River basin, 14 stations
of mobile operator Telekom and Telenor were cut off[ by Albanians and EULEX] ,
and the remaining 10 stations are, as announced, to be cut off today. The
Telecommunications Regulatory Agency announced that the decision was made
because the Serbian operators work illegally in Kosovo.

Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic said that suspension of the network of
Serbian mobile operators in Kosovo is a new attempt to isolate Kosovo Serbs and
called upon representatives of international UN peacekeeping missions to
prevent such treatment of the Serbian population in the province. The pressures
of extremists on the returnees, as well as the suspension of Serbian mobile
operators’ work by interim provincial authorities create new tensions and an
atmosphere of insecurity and fear among the Serbs, Cvetkovic emphasized in his
statement. He reiterated that the Serbian Government insists that UNMIK and
EULEX take immediate measures and contribute to establish lasting peace in the
southern Serbian province.

PATIENTS’ HEALTH ENDANGERED IN GRACANICA

23 April 2010.

Management of the Health Center in Gracanica has bitterly protested over the
cutting of phone lines in central Kosmet, while warning that such inhuman and
uncivilized acts are endangering people’s lives. In case of potential medical
complications of death outcomes, patients cannot receive adequate medical
assistance due to the interruption in communication, so the responsibility will
be on those who have directly or indirectly contributed to the current
situation, reads the communiqué. Director of that institution doctor Rada
Trajkovic has stated that the first aid ambulance service is completely
blocked. She added that after the blockade of medicament deliveries to Serb
communities on several occasions, along with delays in deliveries of medical
equipment and sanitary material, this action is seen as the continuation of
pressure against the Serb people in the Province.
