Zeiner, George Edward, of Plano, TX, passed away suddenly after a short illness
at the age of 79 on January 6, 2026, surrounded by family and friends. He was
the beloved husband of Andrea (Tittmann) Zeiner, his wife of 54 years. George
was born in Jamaica, NY, son of the late George Zeiner, Sr. and Edna (Siegmund)
Zeiner.

George and his wife returned to Texas in 2024 after spending 12 years in
Surprise, AZ. Prior to that, they raised their family in Arlington, TX, and
later made their home in Fort Worth.

He was raised in Hempstead, NY, and graduated from Uniondale High School, Class
of 1964, before earning his bachelor’s degree in business administration from
Nichols College in 1968. Upon graduation, he began his career at American
Airlines, where he met Andrea, a fellow ticket agent. In 1969, George was
drafted and deployed to Vietnam, where he served his country as an infantryman
in the U.S. Army in Duc Pho. Upon his return from Vietnam, he was assigned to
Fort Benning, GA, until his discharge in 1971. George and Andrea were married
in May 1971 in Huntington Station, NY. He resumed his career at American
Airlines, where he was known for his dedication and leadership, ultimately
spending 37 years with the company in a variety of management roles and
concluding his career as Regional Sales Manager for the Desert/Mountain Region.

George left an impactful legacy in his professional and personal life. Whether
as an executive, an employee, or a colleague, he consistently placed the
well-being of those around him first. But his role as a father, husband, and
friend was paramount. He was loving and supportive, patient and kind.

George was the kind of man whose impact was measured not in volume, but in
consistency. His steady presence, quiet integrity, and dependable nature shaped
his family and community in lasting ways. George possessed many talents;
however, none matched his ability to compose poetry. For all 54 years of his
marriage to Andrea, he would lovingly and artfully pen 14 stanzas for her that
captured the highlights and other notable events of the year before. He was a
keen sports enthusiast and master of word games. No day was complete without
Wordle and Words with Friends.

He was an avid cyclist; he rode because he loved to—he rode to extend his life
for his wife and family. He gave his time and energy to his community by
volunteering and serving on the board of Meals on Wheels of Tarrant County for
six years. He faithfully served as a Stephen Minister and was also selected as
a member of the American Airlines Emergency Response Team, CARE. As one former
colleague shared, “George was deployed to two fatality incidents as a member of
the CARE Team because of his leadership skills, compassion, and grace.”

George was a selfless man who quite simply was happiest when everyone else was.

He is survived by his devoted daughter Christy DePardo and her husband Brian of
Plano, TX, and his devoted son Matthew Zeiner and his wife Tami of Arlington,
TX. George was the loving and doting grandfather of six grandchildren, Holden,
Zachary, Ethan, Grayson, Henry, and the late Esme DePardo. He is also survived
by his sister-in-law, Cathy DeBoer, widow of his late brother, Kenneth Zeiner,
and his stepsister, Tricia Johrden, both of whom he loved dearly.

A celebration of George’s life will be held at Christ United Methodist Church
in Plano on January 30, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may
be made to Meals on Wheels of Tarrant County.
