Oi,

I have uploaded a new version of CUPS to the Cooker (1.1.16-1mdk). It
fixes several bugs of the CUPS shipped with 9.0, especially the problems
of printing in Landscape orientation.

if you have more than one USB printer (not HP multi-function devices),
you should try to set up queues with the KDE Print Manager (KDE Control
Center, "System"|"Printing Manager"). When you choose an auto-detected
USB printer there, there will go the printer's model name and serial
number into the CUPS config and not "/dev/usb/lp0", "/dev/usb/lp1", ...
So the printers will stay correctly coupled to the queues, independent
whether they were all turned on on boot or not.

Note: This feature is not supported by "printerdrake" yet.

The start-up of CUPS is much faster now, and with "service cups reload"
you are now able to make CUPS re-reading its configuration without
affecting running print jobs.

Happy printing.

    Till
