Hi everybody, in case you haven't seen this yet in today's Daily Herald:
/"On Saturday, five women -- including one with a 6-month-old baby --
were forced out of two houses ...
Duane Jacobs, 65, leased the houses to women and children fleeing
abusive home situations or who otherwise need temporary quarters. Most
pay no rent. Sometimes church donations help out, but Jacobs often gets
nothing.
But an ... ordinance forbids the renting of a home to more than one
family, or to three people who are unrelated. One of Jacobs's homes had
a family of six living upstairs and two unrelated people downstairs.
Another had a mother and child downstairs and three unrelated people
upstairs, one with a child.
Some nearby residents chafed at the sight of such crowded homes in their
quiet neighborhood and complained to the city, and Jacobs was given
until Jan. 31 to evict some. He tried to get an extension, but the city
wouldn't give him one. With some ... police officers on the scene to
intercede if trouble arose, the women and children packed and left.
Jacobs said that the last he heard they were living in their cars or
staying with friends. "/
The above actually was carried out in Orem but it could have happened in
Provo.

I think they should have given the owner so many days to add extra
parking spaces before evicting them!
Just wanted to remind you of some of the zoning laws that are bogus --
they contain double standards!
If residents of a home are related then there is no limit to the number
of people you can stuff into a home -- no parking requirements for all
their cars either!
But if you're not related, then you're limited to either 3 or 2 in the home.
Yes, the limit is as low as 2 in 14 of Provo's 34 neighborhoods -- city
council staff held irregular elections in those 14 neighborhoods to see
if they wanted to drop the limit from 3 to 2!
