Hi, everyone! *Our next Volunteer Orientation is TONIGHT at 7 pm. It's at the Sopo shop and it should last about an hour. *Please RSVP by replying sender.
*What should you expect at Volunteer Orientation? Are you going to learn how to fix bikes? *Volunteer Orientation is about how the shop works and the atmosphere we're trying to create. You'll learn the ins and outs of bike repair by helping people while you're volunteering. Orientation will start you off on the right foot...you gotta know where everything is, how to share shop info with new visitors, and how to make sure the atmosphere stays positive and inclusive. Please plan on coming back for a regular shop session sometime this week so you can shadow a current volunteer! The shop is getting busier all the time, so if you're looking for a volunteer opportunity that will allow you to make a huge impact, this is it. Everyone is welcome, and women are especially encouraged to participate. Guided bike repair classes are in development, so stay tuned for more info about that. Thanks, everyone!
