TABOR TALES DEBUTS!

A 30-year-old millionaire playboy with a pre-pubescent mentality wants to be in
Congress representing the good folks in North Carolinas 5th Congressional District.
It was my bad luck to have stumbled upon this worm...but now that I have, Im left
with no choice but to expose him (so to speak). After all, he all but double-dared
me to do so in a very Gary Hart-like fashion.

Anyway, I come to bury Nathan Tabor, not praise him. Check out my new website
dedicated to revealing the fact behind the fiction on this clown at www.tabortales.com.

PREZ LAUNCHES RESCURE MISSION IN...PA

President Bush will go to Pittsburgh April 19 on a rescue mission attempting to save
four-term Sen. Arlen Specter, who faces an increasingly serious conservative challenge
from Rep. Pat Toomey in the April 27 Pennsylvania Republican primary.

As a matter of policy, Bush supports all incumbent Republican members of Congress. He
plans to campaign at Specter's side in Pittsburgh. He will then go to Hershey without
the senator, but is expected during his visit there to call for Specter's renomination.

Polls have shown Toomey gaining ground on Specter, and Bush's trip may be necessary
to stop that trend. Specter, a tough political infighter, disappointed his supporters
in last Saturday's sole televised debate between the Republican Senate candidates.
Specter repeatedly referred to notes, sometimes looked confused and once referred to
President Reagan when he meant President Bush. "

ASIANS WAY OUT IN FRONT...

South Korea is known to have the world's highest usage rate of broadband Internet and
is, along with Japan, home to the world's most advanced mobile telecommunications
infrastructure.

- Washington Times, 4/11/04

..MEANWHILE, BACK IN THE US...

(Houston) city schools are dropping a policy that required high school students to
pass such core courses as English and math before they moved on to the next grade.
The board of the Houston Independent School District on Thursday gave preliminary
approval to a new promotion policy that school officials hope will keep struggling
students from getting discouraged and help cut the district's dropout rate. More than
5,000 freshmen and sophomores who would have been held back under the old policy will
now be promoted. . . . I view this policy ahead of us as compassionate high
standards, said district trustee Dianne Johnson.

- Associated Press, 4/10/04

BRUSHFIRE ALERT

Compassionate high standards, huh? Sounds like dumbing down to us. Who cares if
Johnny can read, right? Just so long as he feels good about himself and doesnt get
discouraged. Wanna share YOUR thoughts with Ms. Johnson? You can email her at:

POLITICAL CROSS-DRESSERS

Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) found one of many typical examples of the
way governments misspend our money. It is an annual appropriation for the Virginia
Association of Counties. Last year, that group dined on gourmet food, played golf and
enjoyed the spas at the state's premier luxury resort, the Homestead. The little
junket cost taxpayers $300,000, according to CAGW. That some Republicans are
co-conspirators in this outs them as political cross-dressers.
