EXTRA! EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT...

To this day some of our lunk-headed fellow citizens just dont get it when it comes
to terrorism. They either dont think the threat is real; that 911 was just a
one-time shot across our bow...or that folks such as bin Laden can be reasoned with.
The beheadings of Nick Berg and Paul Johnson tell the real story...but the old
media ISNT telling that side. So our friends over at RightMarch.com have a new
project in the works using the words of Sen. Zell Miller, Georgia Democrat, (Why is
it that there's more indignation over a photo of a prisoner with underwear on his head
than over the video of a young American with no head at all?") to try to open the eyes
of these nave Americans. Read all about this critically important and unique project
on todays News & Views EXTRA page at: http://www.chuckmuth.com/newsandviews/nv.cfm.

JUST LIKE THEY SAID THEY WOULD

" The infidel got his fair treatment. Do you see what savage bastards we're up
against here? Yesterday Al Qaeda beheaded Paul Johnson Jr. Just like they said they
would. Are you listening people? JUST LIKE THEY SAID THEY WOULD. And haven't they
said that they were also going to hit us on our own soil again...this time looking for
tens of thousands of American deaths?

These Islamic menaces have no humanity. Not one ounce. They are cruel, cunning,
capable ruthless monsters. I hope there aren't many idiotic Americans who agree with
that fool I saw and Hannity and Colmes this week...the one who said we need to open a
dialogue with these monsters and negotiate with them. Yeah...let's show some
weakness. That's what we need.

I want you to think about how much encouragement these bastards get from the
appeasement crowd in this country. Just how much do they want to see John Kerry win
the White House? Is there any doubt in your mind who they would vote for? Does that
person happen to be the same person you're going to vote for? We're at war, folks.
Let's get an official declaration and hit these sons-of-bitches with everything we
have...hit them and every half-assed nation that harbors or supports them.

DRIVE-BY OBSERVATIONS

* Al Qaeda must still think Bill Clinton & Al Gore are in the White House. They must
have thought theyd finally found a way to break our resolve: Keep beheading other
Americans. But while Americans were shocked and revolted by the Berg beheading, there
appears to be less revulsion and more outrage over the beheading of Paul Johnson. The
shock over such barbarism has passed. Now were just really p*ssed off.

* It appears theres a HUGE typographical error on the cover of Bill Clintons new
book, My Life. Somebody mistakenly inserted an F in the title.

* Its estimated that President Kennedy has some 650-700 items dedicated to his
memory and Martin Luther King Jr. has over 1,000. The Reagan Legacy Project says
Ronald Regan has 52. We have a LOT of catching up to do...and will be doing so for a
very long time.

* While God Bless America is certainly a prettier song and easier to sing, the Star
Spangled Banner heralds the nations willingness to fight for everything which makes
America so wonderful in the first place. Without that willingness - that American
spirit - to fight and die for liberty and freedom, our mountains, valleys and oceans
white with foam wouldnt be quite so wonderful. So I guess Ill stick with Francis
Scott Keys home of the brave bar tune.

* In his column this week, Cal Thomas writes: Everyone in a free society should not
only have the right to free and paid speech, but also the right to make fools of
themselves to as wide an audience as possible. How wonderful that so many on both
the left and the right in this country are exercising that right. Especially the
left. Particularly Michael Moore. What a schmuck.

* Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist explained his reasons for scheduling a vote on
the federal marriage amendment next month by saying that the more and more people
that are getting married...the harder its going to be to address it. If he thinks
its hard NOW...how much harder is it going to be after the Senate crushes the
amendment in July?

* Lets say, hypothetically speaking, that Sen. John Kerry (D) and Rep. Barney Frank
(D) get themselves a gay marriage in Massachusetts. Which one changes their last name?
Or will they borrow a page from radical feminism and hyphenate...like Hillary
Rodham-Clinton? But if so, would it be Barney Frank-Kerry...or John Kerry-Frank?
Im not sure people are considering the very serious ramifications of this issue.

* Massachusetts became the latest state to approve a ban on all indoor smoking. So
now two gay guys can get married in a bar...but no one cant light up a fine cigar to
celebrate the nuptials afterward. Go figure.

* By a unanimous 78-0 vote, the New Jersey assembly approved a bill which allows bar
owners to continue offering Ladies Nights and other special promotions...which a
government apparatchik had declared illegal just a few weeks ago. What a shame that
such a law became necessary in the first place. Maybe they should pass a law banning
stupid government edicts. Or is that redundant?

* North Carolina congressional candidate Nathan Tabor accused opponent Ed Broyhill
last week of misleading voters. This would appear to be the very definition of the
pot calling the kettle black.

* My 2-year-old picked up somebody elses $5 bill off the bar last night, handed it
to me and said, heres your million dollars. So I figure shes now mastered public
high school math...and is well on her way toward a career as a northeast liberal
congressman.

* I went to a little-known public beach this weekend with the kids. There was no
admission fee. There was also no life-guard. We swam at our own risk. It was a
perfectly acceptable trade-off. It was wonderful.

* Im about to become an uncle again for the seventh time this morning. Next to
being a dad or a grand-dad, this is probably the best gig in town. Congratulations to
Amber and Sisto...and my new niece or nephew, whichever it turns out to be!

THE REVOLUTION IS DEAD...LONG LIVE THE REVOLUTION

This summer the famous Contract with America that swept Republicans into power in
Congress in 1995 turns 10 years old. . . . Ten years later, most of the useless
programs still flourish. Here are some disappointing examples:

The Americorps program has grown 181 percent and President Bush wants to expand
it further.

The Education Department budget has almost tripled since 1995.

The Goals 2000 budget has grown from $231 million to $700 million.

The wool and mohair subsidy was terminated (hooray) but then resurrected by
Congress in 1997 and now spends more money than ever.

Amtrak subsidies were supposed to be phased out entirely by the year 2000. But
this year the railroad asked for a $2 billion bailout and Congress is likely to grant
it.

The budget of $1.5 trillion in 1995 will likely reach $2.5 trillion this year. The
war against big government was fought - at times valiantly - but eventually lost.

...It's tragic that today many of those same Republicans who led the Contract with
America siege on Washington have settled into power, have become overly comfortable
with their perches of authority, and have in some ways become mirror images of what
they replaced. The Republicans now spend more than even the Democrats did when they
ran Capitol Hill. Republicans seem to have forgotten who they are, and why voters put
them there. Perhaps it is time for conservatives to start plotting the next
revolution.

THE WORLD ACCORDING TO REAGAN

It is not my intention to do away with government. It is rather to make it work -
work with us, not over us; stand by our side, not ride on our back. Government can and
must provide opportunity, not smother it; foster productivity, not stifle it.

- Ronald Reagan

CANNON FODDER

As voters gear up for the Utah Republican primary on Tuesday, four-termRep. Chris
Cannonis fighting off chargesthat he is in violation ofcampaign finance lawsafter
making an appeal to illegal immigrants for campaign donations.

Cannon...appeared on Salt Lake City Spanish-language radio station KBJA last month
with a part-time congressional aide. During the90-minute interview, which was
conducted entirely in Spanish, Cannon's aide, Marco Diaz, urged illegal immigrants and
those under 18-years-old to send in donations to Cannon's campaign.

...Despite the advice, the suggestions by Cannon and Diaz violate three
federalcampaign laws: children under 18 are prohibited from donating; foreign
nationals, which illegal aliens are by definition, are prohibited from donating; and
individuals are prohibited from donating cash in another person's name.

...Russell Sias, a Provo resident and Republican precinct captain...filed a complaint
to theFederal Election Commissionon Monday, asking it to investigate what he says
are blatant violations. . . . The FEC does not comment on the status of complaints
until they are dispatched, but Craig Holman ofPublic Citizen, a non-profit advocacy
group and campaign finance watchdog, said Cannon did violate the rules. It's quite
obvious that a violation of federal law was made... while Chris Cannon was on the
radio show, Holman said
